Can Albinos live outside?

While it is a commonly held belief that albino turtles cannot live in outdoor enclosures, the truth is they can thrive outdoors. Albino turtles can live in a variety of habitats. The species you keep will determine the habitat design.

A “normal” turtle requires ample space, appropriate water parameters and areas of sun and shade. Albino turtles are no different. In fact, most of the albino turtles we keep may be best suited to an outdoor pond habitat. Care should be taken to protect turtles from predators like raccoons and dogs.

*You may notice green build up on the shells of turtles that are kept outdoors. This is normal algae growth and does not affect the turtles negatively. It will be discarded with normal shedding throughout the season.
